Golf Swing Tempo and Timing

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Every athletic movement involves TEMPO and TIMING. The Wicked-Wedge does not train TEMPO however has a great deal to do with  TIMING .  The golf swing can be broken into 3 separate steps

·        Step # 1  The take away

·        Step # 2  The downswing

·        Step # 3  The release

Steps  # 1 and  #3  are easy to distinguish step  #2  is the problem. In order for the golf swing to be synchronized steps 1-2 and 3 have to happen in the correct order. Most golfers start the downswing with their upper body and release the club too early. It’s this TIMING movement that the Wicked-Wedge will help develop and more quickly than any other golf swing aid on the market.

Every time you swing the club you will receive audible feedback during the downswing. Being able to distinguish step #2 from step #3 every time you swing the club is why you will more quickly commit to memory the order of this movement.

Like a well-choreographed dance the steps are rehearsed over and over until they’re committed to memory. Once the correct order is ingrained then TEMPO is introduced. When put together the combination of TEMPO and TIMING makes the dance graceful and appears effortless. The same thing can be said about the golf swing.
